Job Summary
The Senior Auditor will oversee the execution of audits, manage client relationships, and lead teams of junior auditors. The role involves a strong understanding of local financial regulations, accounting standards (such as IFRS and UAE GAAP), and the ability to deliver high-quality audits efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Execution
: Lead and manage end-to-end audit engagements, ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations, IFRS, and other applicable standards.
Team Supervision
: Supervise and mentor junior auditors, reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback.
Client Interaction
: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing insights and guidance on financial matters.
Risk Assessment
: Evaluate internal controls and risk management procedures, providing recommendations for improvements.
Financial Reporting
: Review financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with local regulatory requirements.
Compliance & Regulations
: Stay updated with changes in local laws, tax regulations, and accounting standards affecting audits in the UAE.
Documentation
: Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommendations for clients.
Continuous Improvement
: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the audit function and propose solutions.
Requirements
Education
: A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CA are preferred.
Experience
: Minimum of 8 years of experience in audit roles, with a proven track record in managing audits and leading teams. Experience with clients in diverse sectors (e.g., real estate, construction, banking, etc.) is an advantage.
Knowledge
: Strong understanding of UAE accounting standards (UAE GAAP) and IFRS. Familiarity with UAE tax laws and regulations is essential.
Technical Skills
: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Language Skills
: Proficiency in English is required. Arabic language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
Soft Skills
: Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with clients in the UAE or the Gulf region.
Knowledge of local business culture and market dynamics.
Ability to manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously.
