The Associate Operations Officer will also be responsible for building connections with stakeholders, with focus on sponsors from FCS diaspora communities residing in the GCC. The role involves conducting research, analyzing data, and providing insights. Networking and engagement with stakeholders are important aspects of the position.Operational support and strong organizational skills are required. The ideal candidate should have a background in research, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This is an opportunity to contribute to IFC's operations in United Arab Emirates.Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist IFC's Senior Manager for GCC in business development efforts across all sectors in the GCC
Support the Country team and Management in the overall program delivery for IFC in the region
Establish connections and maintain a network with FCS Sponsors based in the GCC region
Provide regular updates on the pipeline and portfolio of investment and advisory/upstream projects for Regional Management, including weekly and biweekly reports
Support all regions in responding to IDD requests related to GCC-based companies and sponsors
Monitor and analyze business performance, updating the pipeline of advisory and investment projects
Conduct research and analysis to identify potential partners and investee companies in the UAE
Prepare strategy briefs, working papers, presentations, and materials for internal and external stakeholders
Organize and contribute to IFC events, including webinars, roundtables, and conferences
Lead the planning and execution of senior WBG official missions in the region
Assist in meetings with private companies, public authorities, IFIs, and bilateral agencies, ensuring follow-ups and action point implementation
Support GCC investors with cross-border investments in the MCT region and FCS countries
Contribute to knowledge sharing across the World Bank Group (WBG) on relevant topics across the region and beyond.
Coordinate with IBRD/IDA and other WBG stakeholders as needed
Support the GCC Senior Manager in various aspects of office administration, including procurement and execution of general services (rental/lease agreements, maintenance, security, etc.)
Manage administrative tasks related to local and international staff visas in coordination with Public Relations Officers (PROs)
Selection Criteria
Master's degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Minimum 8 years' experience in consulting, banking, or other knowledge-based work environment
Effective interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and ability to successfully operate in a diverse work environment at all levels
Fluency in English and Arabic is required, including excellent writing and presentation skills in both languages.
Advanced user-level proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required
Team player with good problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to execute tasks timely and effectively
