Job Description

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLETo oversee the finance and commercial portfolio within the Legal Affairs Department, including negotiation with aircraft and engine manufacturers, managing the negotiation and documentation of aircraft leasing, financing conventional and Islamic loans and commercially similar arrangements and as well as overseeing a wide variety of commercial contracts and working across business units to ensure appropriate implementation including in particular those with an IT component such as SaaS arrangements, various service and maintenance related agreements that support the flydubai fleet and network.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Offers advice on matters concerning aircraft leasing (dry and wet leasing) and financing arrangements.
  • Develops and ensures the implementation of legal strategy to minimize risk in financial and commercial contracts, including staying abreast of recent market developments and their potential implication to the company.
  • Negotiates high value contracts with aircraft and engine manufacturers as well as other OEMs, including purchase agreements, support, and maintenance arrangements.
  • Negotiates and documents a diverse range of contracts, including, SaaS agreements, maintenance agreements, specialized (BFE) contracts to support the implementation of aircraft into the fleet, construction arrangements and a wide variety of general goods and services agreements.
  • Offers advice to the Procurement and Finance departments on policies and risks as well as mitigation strategies.
  • Leads cross functional working groups in particular with respect to contracts that have an IT focus, or specialized (BFE) contracts required in connection with aircraft entry into service.
  • Understands company\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and associated commercial requirements, including specialized areas, facilitating effective negotiation of commercial contracts and resolution of disputes within the assigned portfolio, and the Finance and Commercial Portfolio.
  • Supervises and develops a team of junior and mid-level legal professionals supporting the finance and commercial portfolio, providing opportunities and training for their ongoing professional development.
