Role: Associate Director (Loan Portfolio Management)
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAEExperience
  • Demonstrating knowledge of Portfolio companies underlying risk positions; Formulating forward looking credit opinions and proposing risk management solutions;
  • Be focused on managing concentrated exposures, anticipating and mitigating credit deterioration and maximizing risk-adjusted return within the banks framework of economic and regulatory constraints
  • Be a lead contributor from LPM side to provide valuable inputs during Annual Credit Reviews and evaluate the performance of existing loans
  • Be responsible for the management of a dedicated loan portfolio including credit analytics, identification of concentrated and potential deteriorating risk positions, formulation of risk management
  • Develop portfolio management skills with a view to taking on responsibility for the active management of the allocated portfolio of loans
  • Monitoring industry or sector developments and communicating implications for the allocated Portfolio
  • Provide analytical support and help develop a point of view in support of Head of LPM, Head of LSDPM and Head of GCF.
  • Ensure internal reporting is accurate and timely, and support the Head of LPM on strategic initiatives including budgeting and business planning
  • Represent LPM at senior level in stakeholder discussions when delegated by HoLPM
  • Take a lead role in improving stakeholder relationships and process ideas on an ongoing basis
Technical Skills
  • Bachelors in finance/business or related discipline. MBA and/or professional qualification such as CFA advantageous.
  • 10+ years relevant experience in International banking, with at least 8 years in corporate loan markets / credit risk with portfolio and risk management responsibilities.
  • Sound understanding of credit analysis/financial modeling, legal concepts and loan mechanics, LMA, APLMA and various documentation clauses (covenants, security etc.)
  • Must be able to demonstrate \'thought leadership\' and an innovative approach to problem resolution and be delivery oriented, seeking to exceed expectations at all times
  • Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality of output.
  • P&L responsibility
  • Affinity and respect for local cultures of the UAE and Middle East.
  • Fluent in English. Arabic language skills advantageous. Knowledgeable of local, Middle East and International markets
