Position: Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs The Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs assists the Dean of Education and university leadership (provost and administrators) in developing, coordinating, and maintaining student support services for all Acacia students. The Associate Dean reports to the Provost and collaborates and communicates with the registrar, admissions staff, professors, and staff to facilitate appropriate student placement, course development, orientation, and academic success. Skills and Responsibilities 1. Oversees the strategic planning process for all educational programs. 2. Collaborates with university faculty and staff for program development. 3. Assists with the implementation and evaluation of academic programs. 4. Collaborates with other faculty and staff in the identification and development of interdisciplinary initiatives and other new programs. 5. Assists the Dean of Education with the assignment of course professors. 6. Supervises masters internships. 7. Reviews recommendations from faculty, staff, and students for future improvements. 8. Facilitates continuous improvement of the academic programs based on students progress, grades, and surveys. 9. Assists in developing action plans to address accreditation issues, course changes and other details that are crucial to preserving and improving the delivery of high quality program curricula. 10. Assists in developing academic policies and procedures, and monitoring compliance with current policies. 11. Reviews and updates all pertinent documents such as Graduate Handbook, Faculty Handbook, Curriculum Guide, and other forms. 12. Collaborates and facilitates appropriate accreditation of the programs. 13. Collaborates with the Academic Dean to ensure the success of the programs. 14. Fosters professional growth and development of faculty and staff members. 15. Promotes and supports the university mission and objectives and provides support to students of the college of education. 16. Assists in the development and implementation of educational programs, recruitment and marketing, new student orientation, course offerings, and student program options. 17. Communicates and collaborates with professors regarding student placement, probation, grades, and course/program issues; conducts and analyses end-of-course surveys after every term and prepares reports for the Academic Dean and professors. 18. Oversees student applications and acceptance and leads communication with students on issues of policy and compliance through collaboration with program advisors. 19. Reviews and authorizes admission applications including authorization of transfer credit requests. 20. Documents and supports student progress, ongoing activities and academic status of students, including the financial and academic probation and prepares and presents reports to management during staff and board meetings. 21. Participates in the recruitment of diverse students and staff, facilitates doctoral interviews, and facilitates personal orientation of all students. 22. Reviews and recommends online Site Orientation content and oversees monitoring of student participation and progress in the Site Orientation. 23. Serves as Program Advisor for Special Education program assisting in course placement, planning of course schedules, and advising individual Special Education program students, as well as new or struggling students in all programs. 24. Collaborates with all directors in academic executive team meetings. 25. Participates in professional development, the PLC, and professor/learning coach seminar class. 26. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Provost. 27. Serves as professor or supervising professor for all special education courses to ensure appropriate credentialing and expertise in the area of special education. 28. Provides leadership and guidance in analysis, review, creation and interpretation of student policies and procedures. 29. Supervises and coordinates all student academic advising/orientation programs for the college. 30. Provides study abroad information for interested students. 31. Conducts faculty programs on advising and implementation of degree programs and conducts an orientation for new faculty. Qualification: PhD in Education (necessary) Experience: Minimum 7-8 years of experience Job Type: Full-time Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED11,000.00 per month
