The UAE University, Department of Integrative Agriculture seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor with teaching and research interests at the nexus of environmental planning, horticulture, and ecological landscape design. This individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with students and faculty across the CAVM towards the hands-on development of innovative landscape design pedagogy to facilitate students to acquire skills in designing. Candidates are expected to possess theoretical understanding and modern practical experience in using Auto CAD and/or 3-dimensional (SketchUP, Enscape or Lumion etc.) design skills in the planning, design implementation and management of high-performance landscape strategies and sustainable horticulture tactics suitable for the arid region. These include but are not limited to green infrastructure, environmental remediation, ecological resilience, and urban ecology. The selected candidate will fill a permenant position with an appointment in the CAVM. Primary responsibilities will be to handle practical classes in design architecture in the undergraduate Enviornmental Horticulture Design concentration. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to continue building synergy with the Landscape Architecture Department. The ability to contribute to ecological landscape design, contemporary construction methods and materials, digital design and fabrication workflows is strongly desired. In addition to teaching program, they will be expected to participate in student academic advising, maintain a record of service to the institution and their discipline, and develop a program of outreach and creative/scholarly activity supported by extramural funding. The successful candidate will also be able to participate actively in our community-engaged scholarship, interdisciplinary collaboration.Minimum QualificationCandidates must hold the PhD degree in their primary field of landscape architecture and design degree.Preferred Qualification
