Major Responsibilities: The Assistant Sales Manager - will be tasked to open new opportunities within both the local market as well as internationally. One of the responsibilities is to execute the overall account strategy for assigned local accounts to generate and maximize business for the property. Overall, the position is accountable for the following:
Proactively identifies and solicits new business opportunities and contacts.
Re-solicits non-managed realized opportunities including Turndowns, lost opportunities, and actualized
Understands the overall market - competitors strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply, and demand, etc. and how to sell against them.
Retain, expand and grow account revenue of existing accounts through total account penetration, margin management, and implementation of sales and marketing initiatives. Penetrate assigned accounts for group and transient, as well as explore opportunities for extended stay and catering sales business.
Maintain current business Accounts for new business within accounts.
Serve as the accounts local service guarantee by ensuring that outstanding service delivery is maintained at every customer touch point, and issues are resolved timely and to the customers 100% satisfaction.
Understand the overall market dynamics - competitors strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and how to sell to assigned accounts. Act as the customers advocate through understanding account needs and opportunities. Identify emerging business opportunities and risks within assigned accounts and provide feedback to key stakeholders.
Represents the hotel at trade shows, sales missions, conferences etc. and in compliance with the annual business plan.
Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.
Responds promptly and appropriately to incoming business leads.
Includes successful execution of Sales strategies and business processes.
Conduct and coordinate site inspections and FAM trips, as required.

Gains understanding of the hotels primary target customer and service expectations; serves customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solutions both prior to, and during the program/event..
