The Assistant Restaurant Manager assists in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring excellent service, high food quality, and a positive customer experience. This role supports the Restaurant Manager by leading the team, managing shifts, and ensuring the restaurant meets financial, operational, and guest satisfaction goals.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and shift management.
• Monitor and maintain food safety and cleanliness standards as per health codes and restaurant policies.
• Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and controlling stock levels.
• Ensure that all equipment and restaurant facilities are maintained in good working order.
• Lead and supervise restaurant staff, ensuring all employees perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
• Support in recruitment, training, and development of new hires, ensuring adherence to company standards.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve staff performance.
• Create a positive working environment by fostering teamwork and addressing employee concerns in a timely manner.
• Ensure that guests receive exceptional service and that any complaints are addressed quickly and professionally.
• Monitor and manage guest feedback, both in person and through online reviews, to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
• Assist in developing and implementing initiatives to improve customer experience.
• Ensure that all operations comply with local regulations, including health, safety, and labor laws.
• Promote a culture of safety, ensuring that both staff and guests are protected from potential hazards.
• Participate in regular audits and inspections to ensure restaurant standards are consistently met.
• Assist in implementing restaurant promotions and marketing activities to attract and retain customers.
• Work with the management team to develop strategies that align with business goals.
Qualifications:
-Must have previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or similar role in a fast-paced environment for atleast 2years.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food safety, hygiene standards, and financial management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management, and scheduling software is a plus.
