Responsibilities:
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Assistant Resident Engineer - Electrical to join our award-winning team in Al Ain, UAE. This role involves ensuring that electrical systems and installations comply with the design, project specifications, and relevant safety standards.
We envisage success in this role to include;
• Assist the Resident Engineer in managing electrical works on-site for civil construction projects.
• Review electrical design plans, specifications, and drawings, ensuring they are accurate and aligned with project requirements.
• Monitor and oversee electrical installations, ensuring they meet quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Assist in conducting site inspections and surveys to verify the implementation of electrical systems.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure electrical materials and equipment are available as required.
• Maintain records of daily activities, work progress, and any issues encountered.
• Identify and resolve any electrical engineering issues that may arise during construction.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations related to electrical works.
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, daily site reports, and other documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to the site team regarding electrical works, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure that electrical installations are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Support the Resident Engineer in liaising with the client, project manager, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in the commissioning and testing of electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
The candidate must have site supervision experience in 11KV power works, preferably for large infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including Installation, Cable Networks, 11KV and LV Switchgear, Control and Protection systems.
Familiarity with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical design drawings, specifications, and schematics.
Experienced in preparing technical reports.
Familiar with TAQA specifications and requirements.
Must be very proficient in English reading and reporting.
Health & Safety courses/certificates are added value.
The candidate must be physically available in the UAE.
