Join us.The Assistant Resident Engineer will be associated with the AECOM's construction supervision discipline engineers independently or under the direction of the Resident Engineer advising on all engineering matters related to the roads construction relevant.Job Duties
General oversight of Inspector's daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance and guidance on the supervision of the Contractor's operations
Review and Comment/Approve of the Contractor's Shop Drawings as delegated by the Resident Engineer
Review and assist the Resident Engineer to provide approvals/comments to the Contractor's technical submittals (Method Statement, Material, shop drawings ... etc.) as delegated by the Resident Engineer
Coordination with Contractor's supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence and method of work
Review the as-built drawings, in coordination with inspectors and surveyors
Witness the laboratory tests and verify test results.
Report non-conformances by the Contractor, if observed, while the Contractor executes his scope of services
Be an active member of the project leadership team including interaction with the Client.
Set, manage and control delivery of all contract elements and objectives including scope, quality, budgets, schedules, stakeholder interfaces, Communication /reporting, environmental and Health and Safety.
Clearly convey instructions to staff members in order to achieve the project goals.
Maintain the RE informed of all developments which may affect the project so that these can be dealt with immediately.
Must be technically sound to interpret survey and engineering submittals to channelize and solve problems expeditiously.
Take the required measures to identify slippage in the Contractors activities early so that immediate recovery actions can be taken by the contractor.
Use extensive relevant construction experience to proactively anticipate and prevent problems before they arise.
Portray strong leadership skills which promote mutual respect both from the AECOM Construction Management staff as well as the Contractor.
Ensure high quality of works during the construction period, strict compliance with the Employer's Requirements, Projects Specifications and Safety Requirements
Assessment of the Contractor's compliance to the quality management System as specified in the latest applicable standards.
Review of Contractor's Design for compliance with Employer's Requirements, Authority Requirements, End-User Requirements and Local and International Standards.
Review and provide necessary comments/approval to the Contractor's technical submittals including but not limited to calculations, drawings, material xe2x80xa6 etc.
Submit to the Resident Engineer daily, weekly reports with details of the progress of fabrication, construction, testing of components, parts and assemblies, and status of materials procurement. Any non-conformity and malpractice found shall also be reported.
Evaluate Contractor's personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
Monitor progress of all project participants.
Participate in project construction meetings.
Perform claims analysis, and maintain a project claims file.
Assist in resolution of construction problems.
Analyze value engineering proposals.
Prepare non-conformance report to the contractor, if observed, while the Contractor executes his scope of services
