Aldar Education are currently seeking an outstanding Assistant Principal- Assessment, Data and Curriculum for the Middle and Senior School at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing in the 2025-2026 academic year.


Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum, mixed gender school until Year 9 and a girl's only Senior School. It is located in a state of the art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The successful candidates will be closely aligned with our core values and ethos and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region. The role is focused on the further development of assessment systems, data analysis and curriculum in the Middle and Senior School, incorporating Year 5 to Year 13. The Assistant Principal plays a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality learning and teaching through data-informed decision-making, strategic curriculum development, and effective assessment practices. They will work closely with the Whole School Principal, Middle and Senior School Principal, Directors, Heads of Department, and teaching staff to enhance student outcomes, ensure alignment with curriculum standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.



Minimum Qualifications


A Bachelor degree in Education or a Bachelor of Arts/Science with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
Minimum Experience


Minimum 6 years teaching experience in English National Curriculum

General Responsibilities


Leading the development and implementation of the school's curriculum, assessment, and reporting framework. Leading the Compliance Committee to ensure the school meets ADEK regulations and accreditation requirements. Engaging with parents, students, and the broader school community to foster a culture of academic excellence. To contribute to the development of policy and planning for the Academy and to monitor the implementation of relevant policies. To assist the Principal/CEO and Middle and Senior School Principal in shaping the direction of the Academy and setting high expectations at all times. To liaise with senior colleagues at Aldar Education to support the strategic development of the Academy. To deputise in the absence of the Middle and Senior School Principal. To undertake any additional responsibilities as delegated by the Middle and Senior School Principal. Strategic Direction and Development of the Middle and Senior School


Responsibility for writing the SEF and SDP aligned to Performance Standards 3 and 4 under the ADEK Inspection Framework. Advising on school-wide strategic planning initiatives related to data, assessment, and curriculum. Leading and developing the school Key Drivers and Strategic Intentions to ensure continued improvement in the relentless pursuit of excellence. To line manage the Director of Achievement and Industry to ensure the delivery of high academic standards To promote relationships within and outside the Academy to enhance the #ourmamoura community. To recruit and select high calibre teaching and support staff. To line manage Heads of Department in line with school expectations. To effectively lead the school through external review and inspection. Assessment


Overseeing International Benchmark testing and internal assessments to ensure data integrity and meaningful use. Leading on iSams and Learning Ladders for assessment and timetabling purposes. Collaborating with all departments to set and achieve academic performance targets. Providing leadership in the use of formative and summative assessments to track student progress and inform instruction. Identifying and implementing intervention strategies for students requiring additional academic support. Leading professional development initiatives on assessment. Data


Analysing student performance data to inform instructional strategies and improve learning outcomes. To line manage the Data Manager/Examinations Officer. To develop and present an accurate and coherent account of the Academy's performance to a range of audiences including governors and parents. To collate and analyse the school Data Dashboard reporting termly on Middle and Senior School data and outcomes. Coaching teachers in data-driven decision-making to personalise learning experiences. Curriculum


Responsibility for Curriculum Compliance for the Middle and Senior School and co-chair the associated committee. Leading the review and refinement of curriculum frameworks to enhance student engagement and achievement. Leading professional development initiatives on curriculum design. Monitoring and evaluating the impact of curriculum changes on student outcomes. Ensuring alignment between Middle and Senior School curricula to support a seamless transition for students. Lead on the Senior School options including mapping out option blocks, timetabling and supporting and guiding students to make appropriate choices. Learning and Teaching


Participate in regular walkarounds and drop-ins as well as the formal observation cycle to ensure high standards across the school. Work closely with teachers to develop practices that meet the needs of all learners. Managing Resources


Lead on CATS/admission and transfers for new students. To lead on Middle and Senior School trips and visits. Organising and managing the whole school timetable. To lead on the assessment and subscriptions aspect of the school budget. To develop Mamoura's external presence online through social media content. Other Duties and Responsibilities


To be an Academic Mentor to Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 students. To lead ELT presentations as required. To fulfil teaching responsibilities as and when needed to support the education team. To invigilate examinations, as required, including a minimum of one evening and one weekend external examination session, to support the Examinations Officer and Summer Examination Schedule. * Any other duties as assigned by the Principal.
