Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students and teachers in locating books, resources, and online materials.
  • Manage circulation tasks: checkouts, returns, and tracking overdue items.
  • Shelve and organize books, conduct shelf-reading, and catalog new materials.
  • Repair damaged books and remove outdated items.
  • Support reading programs, book fairs, and other library events.
  • Create displays to promote reading and assist in library presentations.
  • Answer calls, manage library email, and schedule class visits.
  • Perform data entry, maintain digital catalog, and manage library supplies.
SkillsQualificationsEducationBachelor in Library Science or relevant degree.ExperienceExperience working in a school, library, or educational setting is preferred.Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and teens.
  • Proficiency with computers, library software, and basic office equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with childrens and young adult literature is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry books and materials.
  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, and move around the library as required.
