Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitor daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Prepare management reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Collaborate with the Finance Manager in developing annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Assist department heads in managing their budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Compliance and Controls:
• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, VAT laws, and hotel policies.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the hotel's financial assets.
• Regularly review financial processes to identify and mitigate risks.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
• Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Support the Finance Manager in maintaining effective communication with external stakeholders, such as banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Operational Support:
• Review and authorize payment vouchers, purchase orders, and expense reports.
• Oversee cash flow management to ensure the hotel meets its financial obligations.
• Manage hotel inventory and fixed asset registers.
Qualifications and Skills:Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent are an advantage.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in a luxury hotel, is preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Opera, Oracle).
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, VAT compliance, and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with teams across departments.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Work Environment:
• Standard office setting, with occasional requirements to attend departmental meetings or audits.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as per operational needs.
