Our brands include Bloomingdales, Harvey Nichols and Armani to name just a few! About The Role The Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for the Online Ecommerce business across retail division. You will support the management in decision-making and planning through analysis and reporting of financial performance, maintaining effective controls over the companys financial processes and preparing financial statements, management information, and budgets of the company in line with the Al Tayer Group (ATG) guidelines What Youll Be Doing
Strategic Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of the Finance strategy for the company, by researching and providing input that is in line with the Groups overall strategic direction
  • Provide input on the companys budget and control expenses of the function, ensuring it stays within its operating budget

Functional Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support, service and advise on all financial matters to the companys management, i.e. budgets preparation, and presentation, management accounting, MIS and all other financial and non financial reports and statements
  • Ensure timely preparation of the financial budget and forecast for the company in line with ATG requirements, working in coordination with Group Corporate Finance and company departments
  • Maintain an effective control environment over all key financial processes including budgetary controls, accounting and physical control as per laid down procedures of asset management. Also exercise controls on other purchases and services
  • Forecast foreign exchange requirements, communicate to HO Finance and advise any change as and when necessary
  • Ensure timely preparation and communication of periodic financial reports to Group Corporate Finance based on the guidelines defined
  • Consolidate and review key financial information within established timelines in areas such as operating results and budget versus actual and also report any issues with respect to planning and budgeting to the Head of Finance
  • Ensure that all accounting entries are incorporated in the company accounts after they have been approved as per the schedule of authority and that accounts are kept up to date to reflect all the transaction of the business, including all reconciliation with the bankers, debtors, creditors and groups companies
  • Monitor bank balances against the facilities to ensure that the company operates within the approved facilities. Plan and manage day-to-day cash needs for the company and develop comprehensive treasury management strategies, cash reporting mechanisms and controls (including daily and cash in transit reporting) to ensure adequate liquidity
  • Monitor tax compliance; return filing for timely basis wherever applicable
  • Ensure proper insurance cover on companys assets in coordination with corporate finance.
  • Review monthly/Annual closing activities in accordance with corporate policies and IFRS and ensure timely submission of monthly management reports.
  • Coordinate with the external audit process including preparation of year end and interim financial statements to be produced in line with ATG and up to date IFRS guidelines.
  • Monitor the ongoing financial performance of the company and provide continued visibility to management
People Management Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.
  • Provide leadership and direction to subordinates towards the achievement of goals and objectives.
About You To be successful in securing this role, you will ideally have a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce. Certification in CA or CPA with minimum 8 years post certification experience; with 3years experience in online ecommerce is preferred. Knowledge and Skills:
  • Recognized professional qualification in Finance (CA or CPA) with appropriately maintained Continuing Professional Development
  • 8 years experience post certification, with at least 3-4 years experience in online ecommerce is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in finance Business Partnering, financial analysis, planning, contract reviews, risk management, cash flow, inventory management, auditing and Financial reporting role.
  • Coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Should have a good understanding of various accounting aspects and international trends and standards
  • Proficient in English language, Arabic would be an advantage
  • Should have good analytical, numerical and research skills
  • Should be able to communicate effectively and have excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Displays strong leadership skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with all level of stakeholders.
  • Excellent in Excel, Power point, Sales force, Magento and ERP system like JD, SAP or Oracle.
  • Should be able to lead, develop and motivate teams.
