JOB PURPOSE:

Carry out routine checks and undertake minor repairs on electrical equipment and to participate in remedial and preventive maintenance on an assigned rig and to become familiar with the role and activities of the Electrician (Rig).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities Undertakes checks on specific items of electrical equipment at an assigned location and in accordance with an established schedule and verbal instructions to ensure their correct functioning. Reports to Electrician (Rig) any items that are functioning incorrectly or are not functioning. Undertakes repairs to such equipment when requested by electrician. Such items include air conditioning units, refrigerators, lighting equipment and derrick lights and electric motor belts Checks and tops up batteries when necessary. Participates in the investigating of breakdowns by assisting in the isolating and stripping down of equipment using pullers, bearing presses and the like.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills :

2 years' experience in maintenance and repair of industrial electrical equipment including some exposure to high voltage AC/DC supplies.
