The Department of Integrative Agriculture at the UAE University seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor with teaching and research experience at the nexus of environmental planning, horticulture, and ecological landscape design, deliver courses in landscape design, plant propagation, urban horticulture, and sustainable landscaping practices. The candidate should also possess experience in supervising student research theses and research projects at graduate level focused on innovative and sustainable landscaping solutions, and climate-resilient plants in general. This individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with students and faculty across the Horticulture program towards the hands-on development of innovative landscape design pedagogy to facilitate students to acquire skills in designing. Candidates are expected to possess theoretical understanding and modern practical experience in using different teaching methods including but not limited to: Auto CAD and/or 3-dimensional (SketchUP, Enscape or Lumion etc. design skills in the planning, design implementation and management of high-performance landscape strategies and sustainable horticulture tactics suitable for the arid region. These include but are not limited to green infrastructure, environmental remediation, ecological resilience, and urban ecology and knowledgeable about soil and water management tools and technologies.
