Job Title : Assistant Accountant Customs experienced in saif zone uae

Location: Sharjah

Salary: Aed 2500 to Aed to 3000 Per Month

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accountant with a strong background in customs accounting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of customs processes, import/export regulations, and financial reporting. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Tally ERP is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable related to customs transactions.

- Prepare and reconcile customs duty payments, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

- Maintain accurate records of import/export documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.

- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely clearance of goods and accurate cost allocation.

- Monitor and report on customs-related expenses, including duties, taxes, and tariffs.

- Assist in preparing financial reports and forecasts related to customs activities.

- Liaise with customs brokers and government agencies to resolve discrepancies or issues.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant customs laws, regulations, and company policies.

- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and audits.

- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the finance team as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on customs or international trade.

- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and import/export processes.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, and data analysis) and Microsoft Word

- Hands-on experience with Tally ERP for accounting and financial management.

- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of ERP systems and customs management software is a plus.

Preferred Skills:*

- Certification in Customs Compliance or International Trade (e.g., CCS, CITP).

- Experience working with customs brokers and government agencies.

- Familiarity with Incoterms and trade compliance best practices.
