Job Title : Art Teacher
Reports To : Principal/Head of Department
Job Summary : The Art Teacher is responsible for developing students' interest and abilities in creative expression and appreciation of the visual arts. The teacher will guide students in the exploration of various art forms, techniques, and media while fostering critical thinking and artistic skills.
Key Responsibilities :
• Curriculum Development and Planning :
• Design and implement art curriculum that aligns with school standards and objectives.
• Develop lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
• Integrate art history and cultural diversity into the curriculum.
• Instruction :
• Teach a variety of art techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art.
• Demonstrate and explain art techniques and materials.
• Encourage students to develop their own artistic style and expression.
• Classroom Management :
• Create a positive and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
• Manage classroom supplies, equipment, and resources efficiently.
• Student Assessment and Evaluation :
• Assess students' progress and performance through projects, portfolios, and other assessment tools.
• Provide constructive feedback and grades based on criteria and rubrics.
• Prepare progress reports and communicate with parents or guardians about students' achievements and areas for improvement.
• Professional Development :
• Stay updated with current trends, techniques, and innovations in art education.
• Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and meetings.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and the art program.
• Extracurricular Activities :
• Organize and participate in art exhibitions, contests, and school events.
• Mentor students in art clubs or special projects.
• Administrative Duties :
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the school's goals and mission.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications :
• Education : Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field. A teaching credential or certification in Art Education is preferred.
• Experience : Previous teaching experience is desirable, preferably at the K-12 level
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
