Art Registrar
Job Description
• Re-cataloguing each artwork and object with the Art Warehouses with full condition reports, correct dimensions, and high-resolution images.
• Inspect and examine the condition of each artwork received both internally and externally to ensure that it is received in good condition and prepare detailed condition reports with photographic documentation. This information is to be provided to the Art Department Manager as works are received.
• To prepare condition reports outside the Art Warehouse when necessary.
• Research and compile relevant information / details for each item of artwork to effectively determine all intrinsic and extrinsic data of the artwork.
• Provide confirmation, in addition to the Art Technician, that art works are being safely handle and stored correctly during transportation to or from specified properties.
• Ensure the warehouse team is maintaining accurate files with relevant documentations such as delivery notes, etc. Reviews inventory inaccuracies and assists with the development and implementation of appropriate solutions.
• Identify and report discrepancies, concerns, issues, complaints related to storage, crating, information received from galleries regarding works and environment to Line Manager for appropriate intervention.
