Work in Kuwait is contingent upon the applicant's ability to obtain a work permit from the State of Kuwait, which is requested on the applicant's behalf by their employer. Purpose: The Heavy Artillery Inspector will inspect all maintenance and repair efforts of all heavy artillery for the Army Prepositioned Stocks - 5 (APS-5) Contract. As the Heavy Artillery Inspector, the duties under this job title are to perform field and sustainment inspections on howitzer systems; will be responsible for inspection, troubleshooting, and diagnosing faults in howitzer and small arms.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees and/or conduct inspections on different classifications of Howitzer and Mortar and other small arms weapons.
Oversees and or conducts initial inspections upon delivery of equipment and records data information for the processing of maintenance work orders troubleshoots identified faults and in-process inspections as required during the repair phase. Conducts a final inspection upon completion of maintenance repairs to ensure quality product outputs are met.
Prepares records of inspection/tests and make them available to the QA/QC Department.
Verifies procedures being used are adequate for the effective control of quality, rejects defective workmanship and materials, verifies, and certifies the test results on supporting documents.
Provides guidance and technical assistance to shop maintenance personnel on inspection principles of workmanship, procedures to be employed, and quality of work expected.
Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program.
Maintain cross talk with QA and/or LAR representatives.
Coordinates with Shop Supervisor when technical problems arise, and in-depth mechanical knowledge is required.
Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession of technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs. Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the Amentum Quality Management System.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
Must have 5 years of experience in field level maintenance, with at least 3 years of the experience on towed artillery.
Additional 1 year of experience as a towed artillery inspector required, preferably on Howitzer.
Military MOS and or education for towed artillery/Howitzer repair and small arms repair.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Cooperate with staff, public, vendors, salespersons, suppliers, contractors, etc.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
If required, must be able to pass General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire.
Must have knowledge of diagnostics tools and forms used at the unit level.
Must be able to read equipment schematics.
Must have the ability to analyze and interpret U.S. Army Technical Manuals with relation to equipment maintenance and repair.
Must have experienced in the using the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Unique Logistics Support Applications (TULSA) and Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW).
Must have experienced in using the Global Combat Support System (GCSS-Army).
Certification, License & Clearance:
Valid U.S. driver's license.
DD214 for validation of required MOS/or appropriate certificates/diploma.
Tier 1 NACI or higher required.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Facility credentials/authorization required: Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:
Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Must be able up to 50 Lbs.
