Key Responsibilities:
- Review design documents to ensure they align with the overall project vision, design intent, and local codes and building regulations.
- Assist Design Manager in the overall project deliverables to ensure designs are practical, feasible, and cost-effective.
- Assist Design manager in managing the design process from pre-concept to construction phase.
- Communicate design concepts and solutions to the management and other stakeholders through presentations and reports.
- Coordinate with external consultants, arrange meetings and document the minutes.
- Present design proposal, studies and adjustments and ensuring addressing feedback from management to the design consultancies.
- Assist tender department in the preparation of the tender packages` technical parts (RFPs etc.) by reviewing and compiling all design-related documentation.
- Organize and manage design material samples.
- Help in building the design database, coordinate and meet with supplies to build material reference library.
- Help in developing MERED`s design procedures and policies.
- Participate in consultants' weekly design meetings as a representative to the client to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct regular site visit/site report in line with site supervision/artistic supervision to ensure that the construction follows the approved design and quality standards.
- Review contractors' submissions and material selection to ensure alignment with the design intent.
- Managing the information flow and liaise with document controller ensure that all information relating to projects is accurately recorded and properly stored.
- Assist in preparing RFPs for design consultants and related activities.
- Distribute design files to other departments ensuring easy access to the information for all teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience architectural design, most preferably within a real estate development or lead design consultant in the UAE.
- Post contract site supervision experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and photoshop is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, zoning regulations, and construction processes is mandatory.
- With excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with international architects is preferred.
