PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe purpose of job of an Architect is to provide expert design and project management services, ensuring that construction projects are completed successfully, safely, and in alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements. They coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, engineers, contractors, and other consultants, to ensure that the project progresses smoothly.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and develop architectural designs based on client requirements, project briefs, and regulatory standards.
Use CAD software (such as AutoCAD) to produce detailed 2D drawings and BIM software (such as Revit) to develop comprehensive 3D models. * Ensure designs are innovative, functional, and aesthetically aligned with project goals.
Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Manage project timelines, ensuring that design and construction phases are completed on schedule.
Facilitate communication among project team members to resolve design and construction issues.
Develop and manage BIM models to facilitate collaboration across various disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP, etc.).
Implement BIM standards and protocols to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in the modeling process.
Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts in the BIM model to prevent issues during construction.
Prepare and oversee the production of architectural documents, including plans, sections, elevations, and details.
Ensure all technical documentation complies with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Maintain organized records of design changes, updates, and approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct regular reviews of design and construction documents to ensure quality control.
Ensure that all designs adhere to local building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
Implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards in design and construction practices.
Meet with clients to discuss project requirements, present design concepts, and provide expert advice.
Represent the consulting firm during client meetings, site visits, and project reviews.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with the project outcomes.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor\'s degree in Architecture - A degree from an accredited architecture program is essential.
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in architecture, with a significant portion of that time spent working on projects that utilize both CAD and BIM. Experience in various project types, such as commercial, residential, or industrial, is valuable.
Extensive experience using CAD software like AutoCAD for creating detailed 2D drawings. This skill is fundamental for traditional drafting and design.
Proficient in BIM tools such as Revit, ArchiCAD, or similar platforms. Experience in creating and managing complex 3D models, performing clash detection, and integrating BIM into the project workflow is crucial.
Familiarity with other design tools and software such as SketchUp, Rhino, or Navisworks for various design and visualization needs.
Proven ability to manage architectural projects, including planning, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, overseeing project timelines, and managing budgets.
Deep understanding of local and international building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations to ensure compliance in all design and construction phases.
Knowledge of BIM standards, including ISO 19650 and other industry-specific guidelines, to ensure effective BIM implementation and collaboration.
Ability to analyze complex design requirements, foresee potential challenges, and develop practical solutions.
Experience in performing technical analysis and quality assurance to ensure the feasibility and integrity of design solutions.
