JOB SUMMARY

Productive Playhouse is seeking a Arabic (UAE) Division Manager to build and manage a team of on-call translators, while overseeing translation projects as part of a large-scale translation project with short turnaround times.

This project consists of translating videos from Arabic (UAE) to English with between 6 to 24-hour turn-around times. Start times may vary, including overnight if you are not in North America. Videos may contain sensitive content and employees may opt out from translating/watching at any time. Project volumes will vary, and we are not able to guarantee a minimum amount of work. We expect to have a number of different assignments over the coming months, and we hope you\xe2\x80\x99ll consider becoming part of our special projects team.

The Division Manager will recruit and manage translators and interpreters with near-expert knowledge of English and solid experience either in consecutive translation or written translation with short turnaround times. The translators must have solid English grammar skills and must be able to follow a set of given format guidelines to produce the end document.

RESPONSIBILITIES

\xe2\x97\x8f Recruit for translators and interpreters

\xe2\x97\x8f Recruit for team leads for team coverage

\xe2\x97\x8f Ensure translators and interpreters have near-expert knowledge of English and solid experience in consecutive translation or written translation

\xe2\x97\x8f Explain the requirements for short turnaround times to all candidates

\xe2\x97\x8f Ensure translators have solid English grammar skills

\xe2\x97\x8f Inform candidates translators and interpreters that they must be able to follow a set of given format guidelines to produce the end document.

\xe2\x97\x8f Candidates must be able to frequently and respond to email during the hiring process as well as once fully transitioning into the role

Requirements:

\xe2\x97\x8f Recruitment experience

\xe2\x97\x8f Management experience

\xe2\x97\x8f Project management experience

\xe2\x97\x8f Professional translation and interpretation experience strongly preferred

\xe2\x97\x8f Proficiency in Google Suite

SKILLS

\xe2\x97\x8f Solid computer / Internet skills

\xe2\x97\x8f Solid grammar/orthography and punctuation of the English language. You will be required to take a test

\xe2\x97\x8f Responsiveness/access to email

\xe2\x97\x8f Web search skills

\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to onboard within two weeks

\xe2\x97\x8f Google Suite
