Sanderia is currently looking for a Dubai based aquarium and filtration systems designer, reporting to its Hong Kong based Design Manager for its English-speaking office in Dubai.

The Design Assistant's role is to assist the Design Manager in creating Solidworks models, drawings, and diagrams in accordance with brief.

You will also assist in creating project proposals and will be dealing directly with international clients, as well as vendors in China.

You must have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Fluency in other languages, including Arabic, Cantonese or Mandarin would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist in design process of projects, including logistics, assembly, and installation

Assist in cost estimation and quotations

Using Solidworks, create detailed 3D models of custom built environment installations

Using Autodesk Revit, create manufacturing, assembly and shop drawings

Using Autodesk Revit, assist with BIM management & clash detection

Creating piping, instrumentation and wiring diagrams

Assist in creating tender and proposal documents

Communicate with local and international clients and vendors regarding specifications and requirements.

Assist in ad-hoc duties as required

Qualifications and Skills Required:

At least 2 years of experience using CAD / AutoCAD

At least 5 years of experience using software such as SolidWorks

Experience in plumbing design

Must be fluent in written and spoken English

Good interpersonal skills and capability to work with all levels of people

Good team player, self-motivated, independent, well-organised and with a practical mindset

Willing to learn and adapt in a dynamic, project-led environment

•You must hold the right to work in the United Arab Emirates .•

Advantageous experience, but not required:

Experience in other software such as Navisworks, BIM360 and Autodesk Revit would be advantageous

Experience in rendering using Keyshot or similar platform, would be advantageous

Understanding of construction, built environment and architecture would be highly beneficial

Fluency in other languages, such as Arabic and Cantonese would be desirable

Practical plumbing and aquarium experience

Salary level: for this role is AED5,000 to AED7,000 per month, dependent on relevant experience. Exceptional candidates who exceed expectations may be considered for a higher salary.

Job Type: Full time - Monday to Friday (flexibility available for the right candidate)

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. Weekends and Public Holidays not required as standard, but may be required on occasion to meet project deadlines

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
