Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant- Immediately AvailableSalary: 15,000 + medical + air ticketOur client a Global PR and Communication company is looking to hire an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to join their finance team. The AP Accountant will play a crucial role in managing vendor relationships, overseeing payment processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, handling bank reconciliations, and managing expense tracking. The ideal candidate has strong organisational skills, a deep understanding of AP procedures, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all financial transactions.Key Responsibilities:
Manage the vendor onboarding process, ensuring all required documentation is collected and verified
Maintain accurate vendor records in the accounting system, updating information as needed
Serve as the main point of contact for vendor inquiries related to payments and account setup
Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors
Coordinate with internal departments to verify and approve payments, ensuring compliance with company policies
Reconcile and resolve any discrepancies in payment amounts or terms with vendors
Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving reports, ensuring accuracy before approval
Monitor invoice aging and prioritize timely payment to avoid late fees
Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded
Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
Oversee the employee expense reimbursement process, verifying and processing expense reports in accordance with company policies
Maintain expense accounts, ensuring accurate allocation to the appropriate departments or projects
Work closely with finance and HR teams to update and enforce expense management policies
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or similar accounting role
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external vendors
Knowledge of basic accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
