Job Title: Alpaca Farm Caretaker Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Job Type: Full-time : Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Alpaca Farm Caretaker to join our team at an alpaca farm located in the vibrant agricultural landscape of Abu Dhabi.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the day-to-day care of our alpacas, ensuring their well-being and contributing to the overall success of the farm. Responsibilities:
- Animal Care:
- Provide daily care for alpacas, including feeding, watering, and monitoring overall health.
- Assist with routine health checks and administer medications or treatments as directed by the Farm Manager.
- Maintain clean and sanitary living conditions for the alpacas.
- Pasture Management:
- Assist in managing pasture rotations and maintaining grazing areas.
- Monitor and control pests and predators to ensure the safety of the alpacas.
- Collaborate with the Farm Manager to implement sustainable land management practices.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks for farm infrastructure, including fences, gates, and shelters.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in barns and other farm structures.
- Report any repairs or maintenance needs to the Farm Manager.
- Record Keeping:
- Keep accurate records of daily activities, including feeding schedules, health observations, and any noteworthy incidents.
- Assist in maintaining detailed records of breeding, births, and other relevant information.
- Assist with Breeding Activities:
- Collaborate with the Farm Manager during breeding seasons, providing support as needed.
- Monitor pregnant alpacas and assist with birthing processes.
- Previous experience in animal care, preferably with large animals or livestock.
- Basic knowledge of animal health and husbandry practices.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently in a farm setting.
- Strong work ethic and a genuine interest in the well-being of animals.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education in agriculture or animal science is a plus.
