JOB PURPOSE
Air Traffic Control Officer is responsible for the Air Traffic Control Service, Flight Information Service and Alerting service to all aircraft operating within Fujairah Airspace and aerodrome in accordance with the local procedures and GCAA rules and regulations.
NATURE & SCOPE
Air Traffic Control Officer is the designated person of Air Traffic Services Department to carry out a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of Air Traffic within Fujairah airspace and aerodrome in accordance with the requirements and limitations of the ATC license and rating (s) issues and endorsed by GCAA.
Reports directly to ATS Head of Operations and ultimately to ANS Manager for safe, orderly and expeditious flow of Air Traffic in accordance with GCAA and ICAO requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Procedural compliance;
Provide Air Traffic Control services, Flight information Service and Alerting Service to all aircraft;
Maintain a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic;
Provide the services in accordance with GCAA and ICAO regulations;
Abide by the prescriptive duty limitations and GCAA regulations;
Provide all possible assistance to aircraft in emergency or distress;
Provide aircraft with meteorological and other information required for the safe and efficient conduct of the flight;
Maintain a continuous listening watch on the assigned communication frequencies and channels.
Manage and monitor flight progress strip board;
Notify the concerned authorities of any unserviceable ATC equipment and navigational warnings;
Comply with procedures detailed in all ATS Operations Manuals;
Maintains competency to provide Air Traffic Control Service;
Any other work related duty assigned by Manager ATS, ATS Head of Operations and ATC Supervisor.
QUALIFICATION
The staff shall be able to demonstrate the following for the job role:
High school education certificate or greater;
Certificate of required ICAO course (s) approved by GCAA;
Meets the licensing requirements of GCAA;
Meets English Language Proficiency (ELP) at ICAO level 4 or greater;
Completed the required training and validation process as stipulated in UTCM;
Demonstrates a good knowledge of aircraft and their performances;
Maintains an excellent level of situational awareness;
Aptitude to work quickly and accurately with sound judgements;
Able to work harmoniously with co-workers and maintains good communication skill;
Perform works related duties assigned by shift supervisor and ATS management;
Able to work under pressure during shift duties, day and night and as assigned;
Good command in written and spoken English;
Any other requirement stated in the ATS Operational manuals or as stipulated by the GCAA.
EXPERIENCE
The staff shall be able to demonstrate the following experience:
Minimum Qualification
5 years experience with current Approach Control Surveillance Rating and Approach Procedural Rating
Preference
ATCOs with Aerodrome Control Rating (current or previously held within the last 4 years)
Added advantage
ATCOs with Endorsement (OJTI, Examiner, Investigator, Classroom Instructions or Supervisor
As required by the Manager ANS.

Pay: AED100.00 - AED222.00 per hour
