PurposeTo manage the air freight teams daily operations including allocation of top revenue clients to the team as per their profile for clients shipping requirements and to ensure the development, implementation and enhancement of air freight forwarding operational procedures.Duties and Responsibilities
Liaise with client continuously and in a proactive manner regarding our services and products
Attempt to seek extended business from existing clients and referrals
Present the company as and when required i.e., company functions, client meetings, etc
Monitor the daily status reports to clients with current information on all their shipments
Developing the Air Freight Product:
Support Air Product development of customer specific solutions
Create Solutions that address the supply chain needs with a focus on increasing efficiencies-reducing lead times and costs on an ongoing basis
Sales support and guidance:
Align the Air Product objectives / targets (Sales to support / enable the Air Freight business line targets)
Act as a Product expert in front of customers, guide / empowering the sales team to effectively match the right business solutions with the ideal destinations
Pricing and tenders:
Define pricing approach in line with global strategy, accountable for the RFQ pricing, for the spot pricing above the defined threshold as well as for aligning the local pricing with the regional pricing desk and supporting the local pricing activities if required
Procurement:
Responsible for Air strategy implementation as well as accountable for procurement in the gateway
Responsible for identifying procurement leverage across UAE and supporting procurement within the Areas, for relationship management with preferred partners
Operations:
Accountable for the regional gateways and therefore the increase in consolidation and de-consolidation, optimization of net achieved costs as well as operations quality in line with the service promise towards customers
Guides the team on System usage and plans the training needs
Responsible for the teams compliance with companys compliance policies
Responsible for developing relations with overseas offices
Develops methods to achieve business objectives at the optimum return on investment level for the company
Regular service calls / visits to existing customers, as per the agreed KPIs
Develop and provide clients according to the monthly / quarterly KPIs
Sending all jobs reports to management at the end of every month
Knowledge & Experience
Bachelors degree, Masters degree preferable
High level of computer literacy
Minimum of 5-8 years experience in freight forwarding and Air Freight
