Job Description

Role Purpose



Is responsible for ensuring that all aerospace projects meet environmental regulations and standards. This role involves conducting thorough field assessments to monitor environmental impacts and implementing strategies to maintain compliance.


Key Responsibilities/Duties



1. Environmental Compliance: Ensure all aerospace projects comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and standards. Develop and implement environmental compliance programs and procedures.



2. Field Assessments: Conduct field assessments to monitor environmental impacts of aerospace operations. Collect and analyze aviation related environmental data, including air quality , noise pollution assessment, wild life impact assessment, carbon footprint analysis, and climate impact assessment .



3. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports on environmental compliance and field assessment findings. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all aviation environment related l activities and compliance records.



4. Environmental Impact Analysis: Assess the potential environmental impacts of new projects and propose mitigation measures. Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).



5. Regulatory Liaison: Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, ensuring all permits and approvals are obtained and maintained. Respond to regulatory inquiries and inspections and ensure timely resolution of compliance issues.



6. Sustainability Initiatives: Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and sustainability within aerospace projects. Implement and monitor sustainability initiatives, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency programs, carbon offsetting programs, noise abatement measures and other initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impacts.



7. Incident Response: Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions. Develop and maintain emergency response plans for environmental incidents withing the emirates Dubai.



8. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging environmental regulations, standards, and best practices. Continuously improve environmental compliance processes and procedures.



9. Other Duties: Perform other airspace and obstacle job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.



Qualifications



Academic Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. (Masters is preferred)


Certifications


• ICAO course in aviation environment.


Professional Experience


• At Least (4-6) years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in the aerospace.
• Familiar with the Action Plan concept from the ICAO Doc 9988 "Guidance on the development of State's Action Plans on CO2 Emissions Reduction Activities".
• Good knowledge of the ICAO publications on Environment including the Annex 16 of the ICAO Convention.
