We are currently recruiting for an Advisor ? Health, Safety and Environment to join our HSE team in Dubai. Scope Responsible for developing and implementing Health & Safety Management system at Transguard worksites, and ensuring its compliance with International Safety Standards (ISO 45001 & 14001). This position will develop guidelines in coordination with HSE Manager for the HSE management of operations and standards. The QHSE Officer will be a provider of information, giving technical guidance on all Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental matters, identifying and advising on current and future requirements and ensuring that systems, policies and processes are in place to prevent incidents and support the continuing development of a HSE culture across the organization. Implementation of organizational and client HSE policies and procedures in compliance to ISO 45001:2018, 14001:2015 any other HSE standard applicable to work side
Advise the business on health and safety matters and assist them in the implementation of a health and safety management system
Conduct periodic safety inspections for identification of HSE hazards at the workplace or premises and ensure these hazards are minimized by implementing adequate control measures
To ensure compliance of applicable legal requirements pertaining to Health, Safety and Environment. Manage and coordinate all HSE matters related to Business Units incompliance with HSE requirements, e.g., specifications, safety codes, legal requirements, and TG policies and procedures
Carry out regular site visits to the TG accommodations to ensure the safety standards are implemented and practiced.
Carry out building safety assessment for the TG accommodations
Customer
Coordinate within the business unit to conduct occupational risk and opportunity/environmental aspects and impact assessment for prudently managing HSE risks and creating opportunities for continual improvement in their respective areas.
Work closely with the TG client?s health & safety representatives to ensure TG staff are aware and following their health & safety procedures. Attend client meetings whenever required.
To carry out HSE awareness training sessions within the organization to promote safety culture and to carry out/arrange job-specific training for Operatives.
To verify the permit to work system and implement a safe system of work for ensuring operational activities are carried out with all safety precautions in place. Where applicable.
Any other business-related task assigned by line manager
Process
Prepare all the necessary HSE documents as per the client and legal requirements for any new sites before the mobilization and ensure they are followed and regularly revised to include any changes.
Conduct internal audits as per schedule and attend audits with the external auditors and clients whenever required.
Ensure that all HSE-related data is maintained on the shared folder/share point in a timely manner.
Innovation
Investigate HSE incidents and noncompliance events to determine the root cause and recommend remedial action to prevent reoccurrence. To identify any patterns in lagging indicators that may require further investigation and improvement across the business and within individual business units.
Ensure the tracking and maintenance of all records and documents related to the HSE such as training, investigation reports, etc.
Skills Selection criteria
4-5 years of experience in a similar field
Bachelor?s degree in science, HSE or equivalent from a recognized university
Airport experience would be a plus
Any Recognized qualification in HSE, such as NEBOSH IGC or NVQ, etc.
Lead/internal Auditor qualification in HSE management system (ISO 45001 / 14001)
Basic First Aid and Firefighting Training
Any internationally accredited environment certificate will be preferable
Good knowledge in implementing HSE standards, including policies/procedures and ISO standard such as ISO 45001, 14001, etc.
Working knowledge of project execution and technical knowledge of safety systems such as firefighting systems
Knowledge of the UAE HSE legislation, code of practice & municipality guidelines, OSHAD, or other emirates HSE regulations
Holding a valid UAE driving license
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
Good in report writing
Strong decision-making skills
