Job Description

The Accounts Assistant supports the finance team in managing, processing, and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions. The role involves assisting with the preparation of financial records, maintaining financial systems, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

:

Bookkeeping and Record Maintenance

: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions. Record invoices, receipts, payments, and journals into the accounting software. Reconcile bank statements with company accounts.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

: Process invoices and follow up on outstanding payments. Prepare and send invoices to clients or customers. Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies.

Payroll Support

: Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll. Ensure correct deductions and compliance with relevant laws.

Financial Reporting

: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Generate financial statements as required by the finance manager. Provide data for audits and other compliance-related tasks.

Taxation and Compliance

: Assist with tax calculations, filing returns, and maintaining records for audits. Ensure compliance with local financial laws and regulations.

Administrative Duties

: Respond to queries from clients, suppliers, or internal stakeholders. Organize and maintain financial documentation and records. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Ad Hoc Duties

: Support special projects as directed by the finance team. Contribute to process improvement initiatives in the finance department.

Qualifications and Skills

:

Educational Background

: A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Technical Skills

: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or similar). Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.

Personal Attributes

: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
