The Role

Accounts Payable Accountant - 12 months renewable contract Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing utility payments for a large entity's shared service centre. This role includes handling high-volume transactions and utilizing virtual cards for payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: o Process utility payments accurately and timely using virtual cards in oracle fusion. o Ensure all utility invoices are approved as per DOA and entered in Fusion. o Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies including legacy issues. o Maintain relationships with utility providers to ensure smooth payment processing. o Monitor payment schedules to avoid service interruptions and penalties. o Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations. o Prepare and maintain utilities reporting. o Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues. o Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. o Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.



Requirements

Qualifications: o Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. o Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role. o Experience with high-volume invoice processing. o Proficiency in oracle fusion and Microsoft (particularly Excel). o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. o Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism. o Good communication and interpersonal skills. o Experience in a large corporate environment. o Familiarity with virtual card payment systems. o Knowledge of utility payment processing.
