Job Description

Job Summary:

The Accounts Manager manage and overseeing the financial activities within the company's operations, specifically related to projects, procurement, and overall financial management. This individual is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, overseeing budgeting and cost control on fit-out projects, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. They also support project managers and senior leadership by providing financial insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Cost Management and Financial Reporting:

Oversee and manage the accounting processes related to interior fit-out projects, including cost tracking, budget management, and financial forecasting. Collaborate with project managers to ensure that project costs are within budget and identify areas for cost savings. Prepare and review financial reports related to each project, including project P&L statements and progress billing reports. Monitor project cash flow to ensure timely invoicing and payment receipts, while managing project profitability.

General Ledger and Financial Record Maintenance:

Supervise and ensure accurate entries into the general ledger for project-related expenses, including labor, materials, sub-contractor fees, and overheads. Maintain proper accounting records for ongoing projects and general company finances, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all accounts are reconciled.

Accounts Payable and Receivable for Projects:

Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely payments to subcontractors, suppliers, and other project-related vendors. Monitor accounts receivable to ensure prompt collection of payments from clients, and manage outstanding receivables. Ensure that all invoicing aligns with contract terms and progress of work on-site, including variation orders and client approvals.

Budgeting and Financial Planning for Fit-Out Projects:

Develop, review, and manage detailed budgets for individual fit-out projects, ensuring accurate cost allocation for materials, labor, and overheads. Collaborate with senior management and project teams to set realistic financial targets for each project. Monitor the financial performance of ongoing projects, identifying discrepancies between actual and projected costs, and making adjustments as necessary.

Tax Management and Compliance:

Ensure that the company complies with all tax regulations, including VAT/GST, withholding tax, and other project-specific taxes. Prepare and submit tax filings on time, including VAT/GST returns and employee tax filings. Support external audits and financial reviews, providing required financial data and reports.

Procurement and Vendor Management:

Work closely with the procurement team to ensure the accurate recording of purchases related to project materials and services. Review and approve purchase orders and invoices, ensuring compliance with budget and company policies. Develop strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Internal Controls and Financial Policies:

Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistency in project-related financial practices. Conduct regular reviews of financial systems and controls to identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring they are trained in project-based financial management and reporting processes. Manage day-to-day accounting operations and allocate tasks as needed, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment. Review the performance of team members, providing feedback and development opportunities.

Ad Hoc Financial Analysis and Reporting:

Provide financial analysis and reports on demand, including profitability analysis for projects and overall company performance. Assist in strategic financial planning, offering insights into financial risks, opportunities, and project-based profitability.

Client Billing and Contracts:

Ensure accurate and timely billing to clients based on contract terms, progress reports, and agreed payment milestones. Review and process contract variations, ensuring financial adjustments are made and reflected in the financial records.
Qualifications and Skills:

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required). Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are preferred.

Experience

: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2-3 years in the construction, interior fit-out, or related industry.

Skills

: Strong knowledge of construction/fit-out project accounting, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. Familiarity with project management software and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Oracle). In-depth understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with project managers, senior leadership, and external partners. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Work Environment:

Full-time office-based role with occasional site visits to monitor project progress and financial tracking. Collaborative, fast-paced work environment with a focus on project-based financial management.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
