: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant with expertise in inventory management to join our dynamic finance team. As an Accountant specializing in Inventory, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate tracking, valuation, and reporting of hospital inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock levels for operational needs while minimizing excess inventory.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with financial records and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor inventory transactions, including purchases, returns, and adjustments, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
• Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
• Coordinate with department heads and procurement teams to forecast demand and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
• Oversee the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and financial records.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits related to inventory and fixed assets, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on inventory levels, usage, and variances for management review.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to inventory and fixed assets.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or ACCA certification preferred.
• Proven experience (X years) as an Accountant with a focus on inventory management and fixed assets, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Solid understanding of inventory costing methods, inventory control procedures, and fixed asset accounting principles.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work output and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
