Full job description The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles, be proficient in bookkeeping, and possess knowledge of tax and compliance regulations specific to the UAE. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supervising junior team members, and supporting the Finance Manager in various financial tasks. Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts for all restaurant locations.
  • Oversee daily bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Supervisory Duties:
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior team members.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting functions.
Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare regular financial reports as instructed by Finance Manager.
Tax and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations, including VAT filing and reporting.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that affect the restaurant industry.
  • Assist in liaising with external auditors and tax consultants for accurate and compliant financial reporting.
Internal Controls:
  • Help implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
Financial Support:
  • Aid in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Monitor financial performance and report any variances to the Finance Manager.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments to support financial operations and ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or F&B industry.
  • Basic knowledge of UAE tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Tally, ERP systems) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
