Job Description

We are currently looking for an Accountant who will be responsible for managing daily accounting functions, including financial reporting, bookkeeping, inventory management, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and an ability to collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data for the fashion retail business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses.
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation for all accounting entries.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement).
• Provide detailed reports on financial performance, including sales, cost of goods sold (COGS), and other key metrics.
• Assist in analyzing financial variances and identifying discrepancies in financial data.
• Monitor and track inventory levels, ensuring accurate inventory valuations.
• Support cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and ensure accurate reporting on inventory-related transactions.
• Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices, payment of bills, and proper reconciliation.
• Handle accounts receivable, tracking customer payments and collections.
• Prepare and process credit memos, returns, and adjustments as necessary.
• Assist in the preparation of sales tax, VAT, or other local tax returns and ensure timely filing.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax laws, financial reporting standards, and internal company policies.
• Prepare necessary documentation for external audits and assist auditors with required information.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to ensure all transactions are accurate and accounted for.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between records and statements.
• Assist with payroll accounting by ensuring proper recording of wages, bonuses, deductions, and other employee-related expenses.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings related to payroll.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Additional certifications (e.g., CPA or equivalent) are a plus.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the fashion retail or related industry.
• Strong understanding of retail accounting practices, including inventory management, COGS, and sales reporting.
• Proficiency in using Navision
• Knowledge of tax regulations, financial reporting, and compliance standards, in GCC countries.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month

Experience:

• Accountant in Fashion Retail: 2 years (Required)
