Full job description
The main purpose of this role is to act as the business partner to the Real Estate division and manage day-to-day financial operations, including working capital management (accounts payable and receivable), invoicing, and reconciliations. The role requires ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, processing payments, and maintaining vendor relationships.
Additional responsibilities include preparing financial reports, and VAT filings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance operational effectiveness. The role also involves ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
This role will also act as the Group's corporate office accountant to support matters such as corporate cost allocations, supporting the Group Financial Controller & Treasurer with weekly cash flow reporting, and supporting key related party companies such as Luxury Escapes Contracting with supplier payments.
Financial Operations
Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including working capital management (accounts payable and receivable), invoicing, and reconciliations.
Lead preparation of monthly business review reports to the head of Real Estate, Head of Finance, and Managing Director
Ensure integrity of the balance sheet with reconciliations and proper supporting documentation
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and transactions.
Commission calculations and payments.
Accounts Payable Processing
Manage the full cycle of accounts payable activities, including invoice verification, coding, approvals, and processing payments.
Ensure accurate and processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
Maintain accurate vendor records and reconcile vendor statements.
Payment Management
Coordinate with finance team to execute weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc payment runs.
Process electronic payments and prepare manual checks as required.
Monitor and manage payment deadlines to maximize early payment discounts and avoid late fees.
Client Relations
Communicate effectively with clients regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and issue resolution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Manage guest security deposit refund reimbursements.
Financial Reporting
Create monthly financial reports.
Prepare and maintain accurate accounts payable reports and records.
Month-end closing activities related to accounts payable etc
Compliance and Controls
Prepare VAT filing and ensure compliance with VAT requirements
Ensure compliance with company and Real Estate policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement
Implement best practices to streamline workflows and enhance operational effectiveness.
Business Partnering and Team Collaboration
Ensure that the head of Real Estate is properly supported in all finance matters including ad hoc analysis and reporting
Collaborate with head of Real Estate, operations, cross-functional teams and finance, to resolve issues and improve processes.
Provide support and assistance to other finance team members as needed.
And any other requests made to support the Head of Finance and Managing Director.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of accounting software SAP B1, QuickBooks, Tally, and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent are a plus.
Strong skills in MS Office suite for financial analysis, presentations, and reporting.
Familiarity with electronic payment systems and financial reporting tools.
