Position Overview:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a background in the freight forwarding or logistics industry. The ideal candidate will manage financial transactions, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Financial Management:

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.



2. Industry-Specific Accounting:

• Handle cost allocations, freight charges, and billing for shipping and logistics activities.
• Ensure proper documentation of freight forwarding expenses and revenues.



3. Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure adherence to local, national, and industry-specific financial regulations.
• Prepare tax filings, customs documentation, and statutory reports.



4. Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyze variances and provide recommendations for cost optimization.



5. Collaboration:

• Work closely with operations and logistics teams to reconcile shipping and transportation costs.
• Coordinate with external auditors and consultants during financial audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of international shipping documentation and customs processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial tools.

Preferred:

• Certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA.
• Familiarity with industry-specific software like CargoWise or similar logistics tools.
