About the job
As our Accountant, you will be responsible for handling the accounting function at PayFuture. Here, you will own and coordinate the month-end process along with all general accounting activity for the entity, while also getting involved with account reconciliations, financial analysis and management reporting.
You will use your initiative to improve processes and practices and take ownership of the accounting activity.
Requirements
As our Accountant, you will be responsible for:
• Execution of month-end and year-end closing activities as per policies and procedures. You will conduct Balance sheet and P&L variance analysis, sub-ledger vs GL reconciliation monthly
• Preparation of journal entries; reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. You will be responsible for monthly bank reconciliation as well as for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing
• Any internal and external audits, through to the financial statement completion where applicable. You will standardise accounting schedules and implement quality review processes
• Preparing the workings for various accounting treatments as per IFRS. You will develop and review our accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IFRS
• Coordinating with other offices for monthly reporting. You will prepare monthly VAT reporting in line with FTA and all other relevant tax authorities' requirements
• Overseeing the day-to-day accounting processes, ensuring that proper books of accounts are maintained for effective financial control in accordance with corporate standards and local statutory requirements
• Handling the Accounts Payable function.
• Liaising with other departments in the business to translate the business activities into complete and transparent accounting information
You will be a good fit if you:

• Hold a professional qualification in accounting e.g. ACCA, with a minimum of 2-3 years' previous experience in an Accounting / Auditing firm within UAE.
• Possess strong knowledge of IFRS and FTA requirements
• Bring prior experience in interacting with external auditors
• Have detailed knowledge of accounting software applications and advanced MS Excel skills
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and operate effectively with people at all levels of the business
