: Accountant cum Insurance Coordinator (Clinic)
Position Overview:
The Accountant cum Insurance Coordinator in a clinic plays a dual role in managing the clinic's financial records and ensuring smooth administration of patient insurance claims and coverage. This position combines financial management with insurance coordination, focusing on maintaining accurate billing records, processing insurance claims, and ensuring compliance with financial and insurance regulations. The role requires effective communication with patients, insurance providers, and clinic management to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Financial Management:
• Maintain Financial Records: Accurately record financial transactions, including patient payments, insurance reimbursements, clinic expenses, and payroll.
• Billing & Accounts Receivable: Oversee billing procedures for patients, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for services rendered. Follow up on unpaid bills and outstanding insurance claims.
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices for medical supplies, services, and utilities, ensuring timely payment.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor clinic's cash flow and financial health, ensuring adequate funds for day-to-day operations.
• Payroll Management: Ensure the accurate processing of staff payroll, including deductions, taxes, and benefits.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, detailing income, expenses, and financial trends.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and financial accounts regularly.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure timely preparation of tax-related documentation and assist with tax filings as required.
• Budgeting: Assist in preparing the clinic's annual budget and monitor spending to ensure it aligns with budget forecasts.
2. Insurance Coordination:
• Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before services are rendered, ensuring that the correct billing codes are used.
• Claims Submission: Prepare and submit insurance claims for services provided, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
• Insurance Follow-up: Monitor the status of submitted claims, follow up with insurance companies for pending payments, and resolve any issues or disputes related to claims.
• Denials Management: Work with patients and insurance providers to resolve claim denials, including re-submitting claims with corrections or additional information as needed.
• Patient Assistance: Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses. Provide clear communication regarding billing and payment processes.
• Coordination with Insurance Companies: Liaise with insurance companies to negotiate reimbursement rates, secure coverage details, and ensure timely payments.
• Policy Updates: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies and changes in healthcare regulations, ensuring the clinic is compliant with all insurance requirements.
• Insurance Reporting: Generate reports on the status of insurance claims, payments, and outstanding balances, and present to management for review.
3. Financial and Insurance Documentation:
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance claims, payments, patient balances, and financial transactions.
• Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and support for internal or external audits, particularly related to insurance reimbursements and financial statements.
• Compliance: Ensure the clinic adheres to all relevant healthcare insurance and financial regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines) and maintain confidentiality regarding patient and financial information.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in accounting and/or insurance coordination, preferably in a healthcare or clinic setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
