We are seeking an Accountant cum Compliance Officer

The Accountant cum Compliance Officer is responsible for managing financial records and ensuring regulatory compliance in the jewellery manufacturing and sales business.

This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, VAT filing, and other financial regulations in the UAE.

Proficiency in Suntek software is required for handling accounting functions and

reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Responsibilities:

1. Financial Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the jewellery manufacturing and sales operations.

Process transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, and payments in line with accounting policies.

2. General Ledger Maintenance:

Prepare and maintain general ledger entries. Reconcile bank accounts, cash accounts, and other financial accounts regularly.

3. VAT Filing and Compliance:

Ensure timely and accurate VAT filings in accordance with UAE VAT laws and regulations. Prepare VAT returns and manage any related documentation for audits.

Keep abreast of updates and changes in VAT regulations and ensure compliance.

4. Management Reporting:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, detailing revenue,

expenses, profits, and cash flow.

Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost reduction.

5. Cash Flow Management:

Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity for day-to-day operations.

Process payments to suppliers and manage receivables efficiently.

Compliance Responsibilities:

1. Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance:

Ensure that all financial transactions comply with UAE's AML laws and regulations.

Conduct customer due diligence (CDD) and transaction monitoring to detect suspicious

activity.

Maintain accurate records of customer information and transactions for AML purposes.

2. Regulatory Reporting and Filing:

Prepare and submit necessary compliance reports to government authorities and regulatory

bodies.

Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and compliance reviews.

3. Internal Policies and Procedures:

Develop and implement internal controls to ensure financial and regulatory compliance.

Provide guidance to employees regarding AML, anti-fraud, and financial regulations.

4. Training and Awareness:

Conduct regular training for employees on AML, compliance procedures, and accounting

best practices.

Stay updated on changes to relevant laws and regulations affecting the jewellery sector.

Software and Systems:

1. Suntek Software:

Utilize Suntek accounting software for daily financial transactions, data entry, reporting, and reconciliation tasks.

Leverage Suntek's features to streamline financial processes, ensuring accurate

record-keeping and reporting.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in Suntek Software for accounting and financial reporting.

Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and AML compliance requirements.

Previous experience in accounting and compliance roles, preferably in the jewellery

manufacturing and sales industry.

Ability to prepare and file VAT returns and handle audits.

Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reports and compliance documents.

Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present reports to senior management.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certifications in accounting or compliance (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are an advantage.

At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting and compliance, preferably in the UAE, within the jewellery manufacturing or retail industry.
