Accountant

Role Overview The Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the financial operations of the firm. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced accounting professional who can ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective management of financial resources. The Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager/Controller and other departments to support the firm's financial objectives. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Perform and review account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, investment accounts, and other balance sheet accounts. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes. Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts. Provide support in the analysis of budget variances and financial performance against forecasts. Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accuracy. Monitor and manage cash flow, including cash disbursements and collections. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function. Leverage technology and best practices to streamline accounting processes. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the asset management or financial services industry. Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and professionalism. Seniority level
