Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including a background in auditing and contracting company accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial advice.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with accounting standards. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities. Manage internal and external financial reporting and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Audit & Compliance:

Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits. Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with statutory regulations. Support audit teams during their audits, and work with auditors to resolve issues. Monitor and ensure compliance with industry regulations, accounting principles, and company policies.

Contracting Company Financial Management:

Handle project-based financial accounting and budgeting, specifically in a contracting environment. Review and manage contracts, ensuring proper accounting treatment, payment schedules, and cost control measures. Monitor project costs, profitability, and cash flow to ensure the financial success of ongoing and upcoming contracts. Prepare project reports for management review and decision-making.

General Accounting:

Manage day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Reconcile accounts, monitor bank statements, and ensure proper cash flow management. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Financial Strategy & Recommendations:

Provide management with actionable financial insights to help drive business growth. Evaluate financial data and assist in strategic planning and budgeting. Advise on cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies to improve financial performance.

Team Collaboration & Management:

Work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations. Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with a solid understanding of auditing practices. Proven experience working in a contracting or project-based business. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and auditing processes. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cost control and project accounting in the contracting industry. Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local tax regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
