Senior Accountant

Full job description

The Accountant will provide support to the senior accountant and wider finance team helping to prepare financial statements, accounts, budgets, processing invoices and preparing VAT returns in day to day activities in smooth and effective running of the department

Responsibilities

Perform daily base data updating and reconciliations as per the department head request.

Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed

Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries

Coordinate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines

Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies

Generate financial reports and statements to managers for review

Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions

Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements

Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion

Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.

Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation

Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in accounting OR in finance is required

Experience as an accountant 5+ years in Contracting Company

Good Analytical skills, experience in Management reporting, soft skills, effective communication skills
