Job Summary:
The Academic Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of academic programs and initiatives. This position supports the educational institution's goals by coordinating curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards, assisting with faculty development, and fostering a positive learning environment. The Academic Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring academic quality, managing student services, and acting as a liaison between faculty, administration, and students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Development and Coordination:
• Work with department heads and faculty to design and implement curricula that meet academic standards and support the institution's goals. Ensure consistency, rigor, and compliance with relevant educational regulations.
• Faculty Support and Development:
Provide guidance and support to teaching staff, including organizing professional development workshops, mentoring programs, and ongoing training to ensure teaching excellence and innovation.Develop and manage the academic calendar, course schedules, and timetables in collaboration with department heads, ensuring efficient resource allocation and minimizing conflicts.Oversee student services related to academics, including advising, tutoring, and academic counseling. Help develop and implement strategies to support student academic success and retention.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs, using data from student assessments, faculty feedback, and other performance metrics. Implement improvements based on evaluations.Ensure that all academic policies and procedures are clearly communicated to students, faculty, and staff. Enforce academic standards and support disciplinary processes when needed.Act as a liaison between faculty, administration, and students, ensuring open communication and collaboration. Provide regular updates to leadership on academic progress, challenges, and initiatives.Support the institution's efforts to meet accreditation standards and ensure compliance with local, regional, and national education regulations.Assist in the integration of educational technologies and digital resources into the academic program to enhance teaching and learning experiences.Coordinate academic competitions, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activities that complement the curriculum and promote intellectual growth.Organize academic events such as parent-teacher conferences, curriculum nights, open houses, and academic award ceremonies.Maintain accurate academic records and data regarding student performance, program outcomes, and faculty development activities. Use data to inform decision-making and strategy development.
