Job Description

Air Conditioning (AC) Technicians play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems to ensure they operate efficiently. Their responsibilities can vary depending on the employer and the type of systems they work on, but generally, AC technicians perform the following tasks:

Perform routine PPM maintenance on AC systems to ensure they operate at peak efficiency. Clean filters, coils, and other components to prevent system malfunctions. Perform CM/EM maintenance for the assigned complaints. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with AC systems, identifying problems with compressors, motors, thermostats, or other components. Repair or replace faulty components to restore proper functioning. Replace of new AC systems, air conditioning components, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators. Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly, following environmental regulations. Charge AC systems with the correct amount of refrigerant. Conduct tests on AC systems to ensure they meet performance specifications. Calibrate thermostats and other control systems to maintain accurate temperature settings. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including service reports, installation records, and maintenance schedules. Document any replacement parts used in the service reports. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures. Use proper tools and equipment's to increase productivity. Communicate with the supervisor the AC system issues and explain necessary repairs or maintenance material requirements to arrange. Provide information on repairs and discuss potential upgrades or improvements to the supervisor. Advise supervisor on options for upgrading or replacing outdated AC systems. Attend training sessions or workshops to enhance skills and knowledge. Respond to emergency repair calls promptly, especially during peak seasons or extreme weather.
