Job Description

A 6G Welder is a highly skilled welder who specializes in welding in the 6G position , which is one of the most challenging and complex welding positions. This position requires the welder to weld in a fixed, inclined position, where the pipe or metal is positioned at a 45-degree angle. The 6G welder must have extensive experience and proficiency in welding techniques and knowledge of various welding methods, including Stick Welding (SMAW), TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), or flux-cored welding (FCAW).

Key Responsibilities:

• Welding in the 6G Position:
• Perform welding on pipes or other metal structures at a 45-degree angle.
• Work with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and more.
• Operate welding equipment to apply precise welds in this challenging position.
• Cut, grind, and clean metal parts before welding to ensure proper fit-up and smooth weld joints.
• Read blueprints or technical drawings to determine welding requirements and specifications.
• Inspect the welded joints for accuracy and quality, ensuring the welds meet industry standards and specifications.
• Use tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check the welds for size, integrity, and quality.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing.
• Follow proper ventilation and safety guidelines to avoid inhalation of fumes or exposure to harmful welding byproducts.

Troubleshoot Issues:

• Identify and resolve any issues related to welding equipment, processes, or materials.
• Correct defects such as weak welds, porosity, and cracks.

Maintain Equipment:

• Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on welding tools and machines to ensure they function optimally.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in Various Welding Techniques: Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick, or flux-cored welding.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a similar position within in UAE, or any GCC countries.
• Preferably High school degree or any related professional qualification in a similar field.
